Tarmac Driveway Installation | Barnstaple
We recently completed a full tarmac driveway installation for a residential property in Barnstaple, transforming a worn and uneven front garden into a clean, durable and low-maintenance parking area. The Project Brief

Preparation & Groundworks
As with any driveway installation, proper preparation was key to achieving a high-quality result. We started by removing the existing surface and excavating the area to the required depth, allowing us to build a solid foundation from the ground up.
A new sub-base was installed and compacted to create a stable base for the tarmac, helping to prevent movement, dips or cracking over time. The area was then carefully levelled to ensure proper drainage and a consistent finish across the driveway.
Block edging was installed around the perimeter to define the space and provide a strong edge to retain the tarmac.
Installation Process
Once the groundwork was complete, we laid the tarmac surface evenly across the prepared area. The material was compacted using specialist equipment to achieve a smooth, hard-wearing finish suitable for daily use.
Care was taken to ensure consistent levels throughout, creating a neat and professional appearance. The edges were finished cleanly against the block border, giving the driveway a sharp, well-defined look.
